AMANJENA
MARRAKECH
MOROCCO
As soon as you cross the main entrance, you know that you are about to feel really special. You just know it!
Although Amanjena was built back in 2000, there is nothing that shouts dated or neglected. Quite the opposite. Every corner and every detail are carefully curated and designed so that guests experience an absolutely unforgettable Moroccan stay.
Located just a short drive away from the old city of Marrakech, Amanjena is a down to earth approach to relaxation. I know that calling it down to earth might sound strange – taking into account that a night at Amanjena is not particularly cheap- but just a few hours at this unique resort makes you realise that it’s the simple things that help you relax and disconnect.
It’s the intimacy. It’s the fire warming you up at night. It’s a local bottle of red wine ready to be served -yes you can find some decent local wines in Morocco. It’s some homemade local delicacies -I totally fell in love with Amanjena’s Moroccan treats.
It’s the sound of running water. It’s the colourful patterns of rose petals floating in the marble fountain. It’s the beauty in the Moorish arches.
It’s the visual love story between palm tree leaves, shadows, and gentle terracotta hues. It’s the warming Moroccan sunset light. It’s the undisturbed precious moments with your loved ones.
If you happen to stay at Amanjena, spend some alone time in your private courtyard garden, devote at least a whole day by the main pool, and book a ‘Qasr’ hammam treatment; you will not only have the entire Moroccan hammam for yourself, but you will also leave with the softest skin that will last for weeks.
They say that Amanjena means ‘peaceful paradise’ in Sanskrit. I don’t know anything about Sanskrit, but I do know that Amanjena is one of the most beautiful and serene places to stay in Marrakech. In fact, I disconnected from day one…the rest is history!
